Charles E. Young Humanitarian Award
The Charles E. Young Humanitarian Award honors outstanding contributions and commitment to community service, and encourages future projects that enact positive social change.
Chancellor's Service Award
The Chancellor's Service Award is an award honoring graduating students who have made significant contributions to UCLA and/or the surrounding Los Angeles community through a sustained record of outstanding service. The recipients of this award are distinguished by the blue and gold fourragère, and will be honored by having their names listed in a special section of the Commencement program.
Robert S. Michaels Award
The Robert S. Michaels Leadership in Service Award honors UCLA students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep commitment to service during their time at UCLA. Recipients receive a $1,000 scholarship and choose a registered service organization to receive an additional $250 John H. Sarvey Service Award for use during the next academic year.
Alex White Internship Scholarship
In partnership with the UCLA Internship Alumni Network, eligible students who have financial needs can receive $1,500 to support their summer internship programs. Applying students must have obtained an unpaid internship in the nonprofit or public sector in the upcoming Summer.
Astin Community Engaged Scholars
The Astin Community Engaged Scholars program provides a unique opportunity for undergraduates to spend a year learning about, and then conducting, community-engaged research. Scholars enroll in a credit-bearing course each quarter, and receive a financial award to engage in research that will support social justice movements.
Changemaker Scholars
Changemaker Scholars work with Changeist to mentor youth civic activists in their pursuit of social change. All students selected to be Changemaker Scholars will receive a $2,000 scholarship and will enroll in a 4-unit upper-division UCLA independent study course.
Data Justice Scholarship
The Data Justice Scholars Program at UCLA is a year-long initiative that empowers undergraduate students to engage in community-centered research addressing social justice issues in Los Angeles. Through coursework, collaborative projects, and mentorship, scholars develop critical data analysis skills to support equitable solutions in areas such as policing, housing, and public health, and will be awarded $6,000.00 for the academic year 2025-2026.
Summer Intern Scholarship
The Center for Community Engagement offers the Summer Internship Scholarship to increase student access to internships, support career preparation, and help offset potential financial hardships associated with a summer unpaid internship. Scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each will be awarded.
