Wondering about what to wear to the annual UCLA Volunteer Day on Tuesday, September 20?  It doesn’t matter if you are going to be painting, planting, or mentoring – here are some essential items to bring that will ensure you have a comfortable and productive day:
1) T-Shirt
Of course, you cannot forget your official UCLA Volunteer t-shirt! Â New students will receive theirs on Monday or Tuesday, and it is a great way to show off some school spirit while staying comfortable and prepared for all types of volunteering.
2) Shoes
Bring comfortable, close-toed shoes that you wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty; they will keep your feet safe and happy throughout the day.  Sandals and open-toed shoes are prohibited.
3) Pants
Next, make sure to wear some comfortable bottoms.  Jeans and bottoms that you wouldn’t mind getting dirty are strongly advised. Just make sure that you can work and move easily while wearing them!
4) Accessories
Don’t forget about sun protection. Hats and sunglasses are great ways to shield yourself from the hot LA sun, but most importantly, make sure you put on some sunscreen.
5) Technology
Lastly, make sure you bring your smart phone!  Join the thousands of volunteers who will be live-tweeting, blogging, and posting on Volunteer Day – check out the Mobile Campaign Page today to get started.
