Watts Impact Mentoring at “Parks After Dark”

With a focus on youth and families, PAD will offer surrounding communities extended
r park hours and activities on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 6 p.m.-10
r p.m. through August 17. Activities offered throughout the summer will include
r organized sports, classes on such subjects as acting and film, free concerts and
r movies, and resource fairs for residents of all ages.
r
r Watts Impact Mentors makes a difference by providing youth and families with positive recreational activities in their communities, the initiative plays an important part in reducing the likelihood of
r participation in at-risk behaviors.

Time Details

Saturday June 21st, at Ted Watkins Parks in Watts, a neighborhood in South Los Angeles serve as mentors to youth at the LA County "Parks After Dark" program from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Food and refreshments will be provided. Parking is free and you will receive a Free LA County "Parks After Dark" T-shirt. There will be various activities to choose from, but the program coordinator will appoint each volunteer to a needed activity to mentor. Activities include but not limited to participating in basketball, football, golf (Snap), arts & crafts and general personnel support.
