Location: 2633 SW 92nd St Oklahoma City Oklahoma OK 73159
Duration: Multiple Days
First Day : May 15, 2015
Last Day: Oct 9, 2015
We are going to Ghana to immerse ourselves in the daily life of the Ashanti culture and rural architecture to build a modern mud house, a prototype to change the local stereotype about building with earth because of poor construction. Join us for 3 to 10 weeks to help build a beautiful and durable house with earth and other local materials.
Be a part of this! Let’s create change where it is most needed. You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the local issues and practical experience, as we immerse, explore and learn abroad. Students and recent graduates of architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, international development and sustainable design practices are all invited to join the team to play a part in the build. Don’t worry, you will have time to see the region as tourists.
