Mentoring as Local Mission!
The Bresee Foundation, a local after-school program, is seeking high quality mentors for the upcoming school year. We view mentoring as a form of local mission. The majority of our students are at schools ranked in the bottom 10% of schools nationwide, facing challenges like gang crime, poverty, and peer pressure. We would like to invite you to be an influence of hope and light in their lives through serving as a mentor.
As a mentor, you will meet with a group of 3-5 middle school or high school students every Tuesday from 5-6:30. Meetings include a lesson plan prepared by our staff, dinner time, and an opportunity to share life with the students. This is a great opportunity to make a deep impact on the lives of a few youth. If you are interested in applying or learning more about our program, please contact us by email at volunteer@bresee.org or by phone at (213)-387-2822 x111. Additional volunteer areas include: tutoring in math and reading, leading workshops (including music, art, dance, sports, and sports), office assistant, and much more.
