You can help high-potential youth from risk-filled environments make the dream of college a reality ONLINE… FROM ANYWHERE!
CyberTutoring is a form of tutoring that utilizes new and proven educational and communication technologies like Skype and virtual whiteboards that allow connection, sharing, and learning online.
Students assemble at VOALA workstations to connect with their tutor who connects from anywhere with a computer and internet access. (Minimum hardware, software and bandwidth required.)
During CyberTutoring sessions, tutors help with class curriculum and assignments, and also to improve subject comprehension, problem solving and critical thinking.
The students in our CyberTutoring program are high school students who are participating in VOALA Upward Bound college prep programs and are working extremely hard to become first in their families to go to college.
They are high-potential youth from risk-filled environments who live at or below the poverty level in under-served neighborhoods and attend schools with high dropout rates, low academic performance and even lower college attendance.
