Location: Marsella E8-45 y Shyris San Cristobal Galapagos
Duration: Multiple Days
First Day : May 13, 2016
Last Day: Oct 31, 2017
The project is focused on restoring the habitats of the Galapagos to their natural states via the eradication of introduced species, while working to reestablish the endemic species. Volunteers are encouraged to volunteer for at least a week to fully gain an understanding of the dynamics of the Galapagos. Volunteers are permitted to stay for up to 12 weeks as established by the Galapagos National Park. Volunteers are encouraged to spend additional time touring other islands and can take advantage of the local knowledge of low cost sightseeing options that maximize the experience with local people, native plants and animals.
We also care about children in needs, therefore we have contacts with a local school and day care center in San Cristobal port to improve children’s quality education.
You can choose any of the following projects in Galapagos:
Teaching English: Volunteers will teach English, computer or sports and assisting the teachers at local school or day care center. Volunteers stay in host family.
Organic farming: Volunteers help local farmers with few economic resources to do compost and sow, cleaning, collecting fruits and vegetables. You also work in the necessities of the community as fixing the road, paint the school, fixing water pipe and other activities. Volunteers stay in a volunteer’s house.
