Vascular Outcomes Research Help

January 5th, 2015

Location: 200 UCLA Medical Plaza, Suite 526 Los Angeles CA 90024
Duration: Ongoing
First Day : Jan 5, 2015

We are looking for volunteers to help us with some data entry for the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI). This is a national database of vascular surgery outcomes, and one that has been used to publish multiple papers as well as change standards of care because of the information that has been extracted. This database is dependent on entry of information for all vascular surgeries, and we are looking for some volunteers, ideally people who are interested in entering the health field, to help. We would work with the volunteer to get certified to use the medical record at UCLA and undergo confidentiality training to maintain the essential confidentiality of these records. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to learn more about or get an introduction to vascular surgery, as well as the medical problems involved with vascular disease. Though this opportunity is focused on looking for someone to help us with data entry, once the volunteer is familiar with the database and demonstrates interest, opportunities to work with us on publishing papers is also available.
