UCLA’s I’m Going to College

October 22nd, 2012

UCLA’s I’m Going to College program has touched the lives of thousands of students across Southern California. It is the nation’s largest collegiate community outreach effort involving elementary, middle and high school students. This unique program, couples the excitement and tradition of UCLA Athletic events with a message about the importance of higher education.

Volunteers are needed as UCLA ambassadors to greet school buses, teach the 8-clap, and interact with thousands of potential future Bruins.

We have received registration for close to 25,000 participants and expect about 15,000 to be in attendance. We provide schools with complimentary admission to the game and also host the College Fair in advance in order to offer students with the opportunity to learn more about UCLA and college in general.

We hope to create a great atmosphere so that students understand that college is an exciting time! Volunteers will receive lunch, a free t-shirt, a ticket to the game if needed and transportation is provided.
