Lavender Graduation is a cultural celebration that recognizes LGBTQIA scholars for their achievements at, and their contributions to, UCLA. All graduating students receive a rainbow tassel and a certificate of distinction, while LGBT Studies minor graduates receive a certificate for the completion of the LGBT minor. Leadership awards are given by distinguished alumni and respected faculty to outstanding student leaders. Through such recognition, our students may leave the university with an enduring memento that will encourage them to become involved mentors for future students.
This is our biggest event of the year and we need MANY volunteers to ensure that everything goes smoothly. The ceremony runs from 1 pm to 3 pm, but we’ll need volunteers from 9 am to 4 pm. If you live on campus, we are able to ask for housing move-out extensions so that you will be able to help us out with our event.
