The Giving Spirit’s 13th Annual Reach Out Saturday!

May 25th, 2012

Women and children represent over 40% of the homeless population in Los Angeles – representing the fastest growing segment. What makes it worse is that they are also the most vulnerable to being victimized and taking advantage of.

The Giving Spirit’s (TGS) Reach Out Saturday (June 1-2) has always been focused on seeking out the homeless children and women of Greater LA. We partner with over a dozen agencies that specifically aid kids, women and families. Our volunteers will help us build 1600 survival backpacks filled with basic necessities to survive the heat of an LA summer. Volunteers will then travel to these organizations and shelters to spend quality one-on-one time with them — women with women, kids with kids, families with families. It is the most intimate event that we do at TGS. After our extended time with our agency partners, some of our crews will do what we are known for this past 13 years — delivering random aid to those suffering in the streets and make a huge positive impact on their lives!

he schedule – One shift – Friday, June 1 from 6-10PM and three shifts – Saturday, June 2 starting at 8 AM. Sign-ups are slower than normal. We are looking for 350-400 folks. We are at 100 with three weeks to go. We need your help.

Please register and join us on this mission to help hundreds right here in our great city! To register visit:

www.thegivingspirit.org — will tell you all about our work, if this is your first exposure to us.

TGS is an all-volunteer organization, with our aid only limited by the number of people who will and can step up to assemble and distribute backpacks.

Can we count on you? Please forward this to any and all in your life who want to make a huge impact on invisible souls who are desperate to know that we all have not forgotten them.

See you in June!
