May 16, 7:30-8:30pm

Santa Monica, CA 90407
WHY SHOULD I VOLUNTEER?
Did you know that the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is completely volunteer-driven, with nearly 83 cents of every dollar donated going directly to research, education, advocacy programs, and survivor services? These programs are invaluable tools in helping people recover from the effects of mental illness and suicide loss.
WHAT CAN I DO?
There are many ways that people can pitch in and help AFSP with our mission to understand and prevent suicide. People who are interested in participating can contribute through a wide range of opportunities. This includes anything from helping with one-day events to working with us on a weekly or monthly basis throughout the year! All volunteers work around their personal schedule and we are grateful for as much or as little you can do!
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
We encourage everyone who is interested in volunteering to attend the Volunteer Open House on May 16th. During this time, our staff and volunteers leaders will be able to provide more information and answer questions about various committees and opportunities.
* Out of the Darkness Community Walks
* Community Education
* International Survivors of Suicide Day
* Field Advocate Program
… and more!
If you are unable to attend, but want to learn more about volunteering with AFSP, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 407-625-2951.
