Special Needs Volunteering Overseas

The well-being of people with special needs is often left to social services if their families do not have have the ability to care for them. Our Special Needs Care projects are best suited to volunteers of a caring and compassionate nature who are patient and open to helping with a range of duties, or for physical therapy students looking to offer their experience.  

Volunteer work varies by location but can include educational activities, planning of games, aiding treachers, helping patients with physical therarpy and exercise, arts and crafts, assisting with occupational activities, as well as daily operations such as preparing foods, serving meals and cleaning. For those volunteers with physical therap training or experience, their task can include assiting with treatment, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation for children and adults. 

Special Needs Volunteer Locations: Argentina, Cambodia, China, Costa Rica, China, Guatemala, Kenya, Mexico, Peru – Cusco, Romania, Spain, Sri Lanka, and Uganda

Trip Duration: 1 week to 6 months – depending on desired location and the amount of time you have to volunteer. 


Cost:
Program fees starting at $180 a week, Registration fee is a flat $279. Cost covers in-country accommodation and meals, airport pick-up, volunteering, 24 hour support in-country from our local team, pre-departure support and training from our IVHQ head office team, including help with visas, insurance, and any other questions you might have.

Time Details

Volunteer Opportunities available every month throughout the year with 2-3 start dates options every month for convenience and year round volunteer opportunities.
