With the overwhelming success of our 1st Annual Service Crawl in November 2011, we’ve decided to bring it back for a second run in the Summer of 2012! We’re extremely excited to be offering once again such a unique, fun-filled volunteer experience in Los Angeles that not only engages people in the importance of service, but also meets pressing issues facing our community.
What’s the Service Crawl?: This exciting and unique form of service is an opportunity for your friends, family and colleagues to get together and support the LA nonprofit community over just a few hours time. Experience a cross-section of nonprofits as teams “Crawl” from site to site solving clues, completing tasks, and competing for some great prizes! It’s like an amazing race filled with energy, passion and fun, all in the spirit of community and giving back.
Volunteer Project: Join the Service Crawl Committee to plan this year’s event and make it come alive! Contribute your talents, skills, knowledge and passion into making our committee successful during the event planning process.
Volunteer Role & Responsibilities: Below is a list of some of the projects we’re looking for people to take charge on. You can contribute to multiple areas.
Securing prize sponsorships
Identifying agencies and planning the service projects
Developing fundraising and marketing campaigns
Social media plan
Photography and videography
General event planning and administration
Day-of logistics and operations
Time Commitment: Be part of the committee in any capacity that works for you! The time required will depend on the tasks you sign up for. We’ll be having regular committee meetings to check in and support one another as well as set benchmarks for completing tasks. You may end up working from home or using our office space. We’d like committee members to be also available on the day of the actual Service Crawl. It’s not required, but it’s great to see all of the work you’ve done.
Benefits: Be part of a large-scale day of giving back! Meet new people, build partnerships, learn new skills and hone old ones and of course, have fun!
Interested individuals MUST sign up through the L.A. Works website.
