Mountains Restoration Trust is working to in collaboration with the National Park Service to restore and maintain lands in and around Newbury Park. We are working to return this critical habitat back to the oak woodland it once was after years of ranching and farming have degraded the landscape. The native plants volunteers will be maintaining include Coast Live Oak, Valley Oak, Western Sycamore, supporting vegetation in a riparian flood plain, alongside Potrero Creek. Volunteers will be helping to maintain the land by removing invasive plants, mulching, and watering.
Have any questions, or want to get involved? Contact us at volunteer@mountainstrust.org or call MRT Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm at (818) 591-1701 ext. 203.
Time Details
As this is an ongoing project, we welcome student volunteers whenever they wish to commit some time to our projects. If students would like, we can create a specific event for a UCLA group. All we would need is a specified date, time frame, and headcount of the students who would like to volunteer with us. Other than that, students are welcome to contact us for volunteer opportunities when they have time.
