12:30-1:30 p.m. Walk around the room and provide handheld microphones as directed by the meeting moderator to participants in the audience who wish to ask questions during the group discussions and Q&A period.
This Town Hall is intended to advance one of the top priorities of the Division of Physical Sciences, which is to improve the climate for diversity by attuning us to impediments to diversity such as implicit bias and stereotype threat, and by raising consciousness about the need to transform our classrooms, offices, and laboratories into more inclusive environments. By opening a dialogue, we hope that this event will lead to improved recruitment and retention of graduate and undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds.
