On behalf of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and the Los Angeles Partnership Walk team, we would like to invite you and give you the opportunity to VOLUNTEER at the 2012 Partnership Walk to be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Santa Monica Pier.

Partnership Walk takes place in five major U.S. cities annually and attracts over 250,000 participants and raises well over $30 million. Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A. (AKF USA) is introducing innovative, locally-led solutions to address the root causes of poverty in some of the most vulnerable communities in AFRICA and ASIA. By raising funds locally in the Aga Khan Foundation concentrates on decreasing poverty by improving the following necessities: health, education, rural development, environment and strengthening non – governmental organizations and community based organizations to build local capacity that leads toward self – reliance.

We CAN end global poverty and reverse its devastating effects. Partnership Walk is a great opportunity to spend a day with friends and family, enjoying global entertainment and interactive exhibits and games while showing your solidarity in the worldwide movement to end global poverty. 100% of ALL FUNDS RAISED GO DIRECTLY to Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A. projects that empower vulnerable individuals and communities in the developing world to lift themselves out of poverty and build a better, more secure future.

There are many ways to support the cause! Simply registering and attending the walk exemplifies your care for people in third world countries. To volunteer at the Walk, you must register by October 15th and indicate the number of volunteers you are bringing. This year, the team at UCLA aims to bring at least 250 Bruins to the walk. Let’s rep our school and beat the Trojans! ***Please check out the Opportunity URL to see what you can do to help out!***

The Facebook information page is here:

We have also linked the registration page for the UCLA team. You can find more information about the walk and the Aga Khan Foundation online.

We live in a world where 1.3 billion people live on less than $1 a day. By fundraising for and attending the Walk, we can become part of the solution to alleviate poverty and play an active role in helping communities become self-sufficient. We sincerely hope that you all can attend, VOLUNTEER and represent our Bruin pride at the Partnership Walk this year!

Thank you very much! Please let us know if you need any more information.
