Location: 200 N. Grand Ave. Los Angeles CA - California 90012
Duration: Single Day
Date: Oct 23, 2016
The Center is partnering with UCLA Residential Life to participate in AIDS Walk Los Angeles, a walkathon fundraiser that raises money to combat the AIDS epidemic. The funds raised from AIDS Walk Los Angeles benefit more than 20 service organizations, including AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA), an AIDS service organization dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by HIV disease, reducing the incidence of HIV infection, and advocating for fair and effective HIV–related public policy. AIDS Walk Los Angeles makes it possible for APLA to provide urgently needed food, dental care, safe housing, and much more to people with HIV/AIDS who also face poverty, hunger, and homelessness. APLA also runs the county’s largest network of HIV prevention programs to end the epidemic in Los Angeles.
Volunteers will participate in the walk as Team UCLA. Breakfast will be provided. Volunteers will meet on the UCLA campus. More details will follow in a confirmation email a week before the event.
