r What We Do
r
r • Navigators: Communities in Motion helps its clients navigate people, systems, and resources to
r
r better position themselves in their communities.
r
r • Problem Solvers: Communities in Motion works to help its clients solve problems they face in the
r
r communities they serve.
r
r • Skill Builders: Communities in Motion helps its clients become leaders and collaborators in
r
r improving the public good.
r
r We help individuals and groups:
r
r • Generate and express ideas and solutions to problems
r
r • Communicate better as leaders and change makers
r
r • Become better collaborators and partners
r
r • Use data and information to plan and guide decision-making
r
r • Deliver beyond their expectations
r
r • Leverage resources and tools effectively and efficiently
r
r Job Responsibilities
r
r • Conduct interviews with nonprofit and community agencies serving homeless youth.
r
r • Research and compile a list of all faith-based churches and organizations in the South
r
r L.A. region (Service Planning Area 6).
r
r • Document and summarize youth focus groups and discussions.
r
r • Document and summarize results of community planning sessions.
r
r • Participate in monthly Community Planning Advisory Committee.
r
r • Attend monthly Collaborative meetings.
r
r Qualifications
r
r • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in areas such public policy, public
r
r administration, social work, community psychology or related field.
r
r • Interested in human and social services, particularly in the areas of homelessness, child
r
r welfare, and youth services.
r
r • Strong written and analytical abilities.
r
r • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
r
r • Excellent communication skills
r
r • Ability to work well with others.
r
r • Access to a computer or laptop.
r
r • Ability to attend some evening meetings.
