Centinela Youth Services is a Restorative Justice and juvenile diversion non-profit based in Hawthorne, CA. We offer mediation services for juveniles and their families throughout LA county and the Valley, and have recently opened up a new volunteer opportunity, Mediation Translator/ Interpreter. and Surrogate Victim

We are looking to expand our volunteer pool specifically with bilingual Spanish/ English volunteers to help increase our capacity to serve youth, their families, and our communities.

We have two different opportunities available:

Mediation Translator

• Serve as a translator to put families at ease during the process
by interpreting/ translating communications between two parties who speak different languages, translate some documents, accurately portray emotion emotion and feeling from one party to another.

Victim Advocate

• Represent victims of crime in your community
by assuming the role of a person, community, or entity who has experienced harm and represents their interests during a mediation.
