The Special Event Volunteers will work directly with the non-profit staff in planning, supporting and executing the Annual Gala on May 10, 2014, with specific focus on the Silent Auction.

r RESPONSIBILITIES
r • Contact local businesses to obtain Silent Auction prize items
r • Create Silent Auction prize baskets
r • Write Silent Auction descriptions and bidding sheets
r • Physically receive, catalog and organize Silent Auction items
r • Oversee team of volunteers to plan and execute the Silent Auction, both in prep work and at the Annual Gala
r • Work with staff to procure and organize supplies for Annual Gala
r • Assist with multiple complex mailings
r • Event planning, promotion, and on-site execution including set up and tear down
r
r QUALIFICATIONS
r Education and Experience:
r • Must have a strong interest in event planning
r • Previous event volunteer experience a strong plus
r • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
r • Database experience preferred
r
r Licenses:
r Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
r

Time Details
Volunteer hours available from 9am to 6pm, Monday through Friday. Minimum 5-10 hours per week. Must be available all day on Saturday, May 10th.
