Are you interested in public health and physical exercise? Do you like working with young children? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then volunteer with Bruin’s Movin’!
Bruins Movin’ is a community service project designed to develop habits of physical activity and healthy living into the lifestyles of young students through the facilitation of short physical activity breaks. Our project also aims to empower UCLA students to develop active leadership and promote health and wellness in their communities. The project was created in order to address the sedentary lifestyles of children and to promote physical activity and wellness among these individuals. We go about this by facilitating twenty minute fun! physical activity breaks during the lunch periods of students grades 1-5. By getting the students movin’, we hope to develop habits of physical activity and decrease the likelihood of hypokinetic diseases. If you would like to volunteer with our project and facilitate physical activities for elementary school students, please email us at your convenience at BruinsMovin@gmail.com for a volunteer form.
