The Free Arts Day Program provides children with opportunities to express themselves and engage in fun, positive ways with other children and adult volunteers. In 2010, the program reached 3,225 children with the help of 253 Free Arts volunteers.
r
r The program includes several types of energetic, lively events for children:
r -Free Arts Days: Art festivals with a variety of themed project stations related to a unifying theme hosted for about 45 children at a time.
r -Free Arts Day Workshops: Similar to Free Arts Days, but instead of rotating through themed project stations, youth explore a single medium in greater depth.
r
r We have a corps of more than 500 volunteers who help facilitate Free Arts Days. As the leader, you will be bringing your specific artistic talent to the group, leading the children and families in a mural project, a drum circle, or another type of community-minded project.
r
r Free Arts volunteers must be 18 years or older and able to provide their own transportation to events. In order to ensure our programs are the highest quality possible, volunteers must first submit an application and attend a Free Arts New Volunteer Orientation.
