ServiceWorks is a national program (collaboration between Points of Light, CNCS and the Citi Foundation) that shows 16-24 year olds, from disadvantaged backgrounds and communities, how service can be part of a pathway to career and college success.
One of the core events/elements of ServiceWorks is a one-day Bootcamp event in which we intensively deliver college and career skills to young adults—while getting them excited about how volunteer service can be part of their pathway to college and career! We’re fortunate to be working with the White House, LA Mayor Garcetti’s Office on Workforce Development, the LA Chamber of Commerce and other local partners on a great event on Saturday, November 19.
We are looking for volunteer trainers/facilitators to help facilitate one of two workshops: one on Project Management and/or one on Conflict Resolution. Each session lasts about an hour, and we’ll pair volunteers with another professional to co-lead a lesson for a group of about 20 students. We provide a turn-key, detailed lesson plan, offer a one-hour webinar to prepare for the session and any onsite support you need!
We were wondering if you could share this great opportunity with the members of Marshall Military Veterans Association. This is a great way to give back and share some of their expertise with amazing young adults.
For more information on the specific workshops and skills—and to register to volunteer—please visit http://bit.ly/SWLAVols and register by Wednesday, November 9.
