<p>Santa Monica Public Library\’s mission is to provide resources, services, and a place to encourage the community to read, connect, relax and learn. As part of the city\’s effort to help children who struggle in school, the library is offering a new homework help program called L.E.A.R.N. (Learn, Excel, Achieve, and Read Now).&nbsp; The LEARN program aims to help students in grades 1-8 with homework assignments and skills building in reading comprehension. Help kids gain the confidence they need to succeed today!&nbsp; LEARN homework help is offered at the Main Library on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-6:00 pm and the Pico Branch Library, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-6:00 pm. UCLA students, alumni, or retirees are encouraged to volunteer for any of those days or portions of time.&nbsp;</p><br><p>To obtain an application or get more information please visit or call the Main Library or Pico Library locations.&nbsp; The Main Library\’s Youth Department can be reached at 310-458-8621 and is located at 601 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica CA 90401.&nbsp; The number for Pico Branch Library is 310-458-8684 and their address is 2201 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica CA 90405.&nbsp; Please help us give kids the leg up they need and reach out today!</p>
