On behalf of the L.A. Cash for College Partners, we’d like to invite UCLA Bruins to serve as volunteers during the upcoming 14th Annual College and Career Convention, to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Wednesday, October 28th and Thursday, October 29th.
Last year’s Convention attracted approximately 10,000 diverse, qualified and committed high school aged youth–many of whom would be first-generation college students–along with family and community members to learn about college and career preparation, admissions processes, and scholarships and financial aid opportunities. In order to continue our strong tradition of preparing L.A. youth to pursue college and career, we need the support of volunteers like YOU!
Convention volunteers play a vital role in ensuring the event’s success by:
-Helping prepare registration packets (October 27th)
-Checking in presenters
-Assisting with set-up
-Managing foot traffic
As a token of our appreciation, volunteers will receive free Convention t-shirts, lunch, and a wide selection of raffle prizes. To sign up as a volunteer, please complete the online registration form at www.lacashforcollege.org/getinvolved (select “General Volunteer”).
Should you have additional questions regarding volunteering, please contact Kristina Romero via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (213) 580-7549. We thank you in advance for joining L.A. Cash for College in the important work of expanding educational access and strengthening the future of our city.
L.A. Cash for College is a program of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and its strategic affiliate, UNITE-LA. Together we work to move Los Angeles forward. Our future depends on an educational system that develops each child’s talents so they reach their full potential. Increasing educational attainment will positively impact the economic prosperity of our region and quality of life for our residents.
