The mission of the Japanese American National Museum is to promote understanding and appreciation of America’s ethnic and cultural diversity by sharing the Japanese American experience. The gala dinner brings the community together and celebrates individuals who have gone above and beyond what most average citizens do. This year the theme is Service to Democracy.
Day Time Set Up 9:00am to 4:00pm
Set up the silent auction
Set up signage
Set up the ballroom
Casual dress with comfortable shoes. There will be a lot of walking & some moving/lifting.
Evening Shift 2:30pm to 11:00pm (let us know if there’s a role in particular you’d like to volunteer.)

Attire for anyone public facing will be business attire.
Time Details
The gala dinner is on Saturday, April 21. Shifts are needed throughout the day, from 9am until 11pm.
Additional assistance is needed at the museum in the days leading up to the event. Exact days & times are being finalized, but will likely be on a Tuesday or Thursday.
