JAMS Clubhouse Tutoring

November 24th, 2014

Location: 2441 16th Street Santa Monica CA 90405
Duration: Multiple Days
First Day : Nov 24, 2014
Last Day: Mar 30, 2015

If this sounds like the right fit for you, then lets get started:
r
r 1. Apply. Fill out a Volunteer Application and submit it to our JAMS location or via email to our montoya@smbgc.org Tutoring Coordinator.
r
r 2. Pass a Background Check. In order to keep our kids safe, it is our policy that all adults who are spending time in our building have passed a background check. The consent for this is included in the volunteer application. To process your background check we charge a $10 fee that can be paid by cash, check, or credit card when you drop off your application or attend an orientation.
r
r 3. Attend an Orientation. All new volunteers must attend an orientation to learn more about our Club and our programs, as well as our current volunteer needs. Orientations are held at least twice a month, usually the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays; and last about one hour.
r
r 4. Interview. Spend some time talking with our Volunteer Director/L3 Coordinator to help determine your best placement. We want to best utilize your time and talents while fulfilling our greatest needs.
r
r 5. Make a difference! Spend one hour each week impacting your community in a direct and meaningful way (and have a lot of fun too!)
r
r We invite you to attend our Volunteer/L3 Orientation at JAMS (John Adams Middle School). Wednesday November 19, 2014 at 5:00 pm.
r
r Please RSVP if you will able to attend the Orientation, if you can not attend this Orientation please respond so that we can schedule you for the next orientation.

Become a CHAMPION for L3 Clubhouse Tutorial Program. Volunteers fill a variety of roles, including helping with homework, coaching sports teams, helping to run programs, and competing in our games rooms. Volunteers can either come in with a passion to share; something that with staff support gets turned into a weekly program. We ask that tutors commit to coming in once a week, for a minimum of three months.
