The Intel sponsored International Science and Engineering Fair is the world’s premier events for high school students. It attracts the top 1600 STEM students from all over the world. and allows them to complete for major prizes and recognition. We start setting up the exhibits on Friday through Sunday. By Monday the students are setting up their displays. Tuesday and Wednesday is the period for judges to evaluate and rank the winners. Thursday involves award ceremonies public open house, tours and celebrations. This event occurs each year in the following cities LA (2014, 2017), Pittsburgh
r and Phoenix. It is atremendous amount of fun and learning, like being in the United Nations for a party.
Time Details
This is a great opportunity to help high school students from all over the world. We will appreciate any time you are available for the entire week of the competition. Please plan serving at least 4 hours typically 8-12 or 1-5. Food will be served for breakfasts and lunches. First few days are for set-up, last two days for breakdown. During the exhibit, the work involves troubleshooting, problem solving, guiding people, translation/interpreting if you speak other languages. People are coming with their families and teachers from all over the world, so help is needed to make them feel at home in this great big City of Los Angeles.
