As the AB540 Project, the community service pillar of IDEAS@UCLA, we will be holding our annual Immigrant Youth Empowerment Conference (IYEC) on June 9th, 2018. Our theme this year will be:


“Dreams Beyond DACA: All of Us or None of Us.” 

Venue: UCLA Ackerman Grand Ballroom, 2nd Floor, Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, California 90024ii

The annual Immigrant Youth Empowerment Conference hosts numerous workshops to educate, empower, and to explain how undocumented youth can pursue higher education and create change to better their communities. 

By attending this conference, attendees will:

— Learn about different legislation affecting undocumented students, such as AB540, CA Dream Act and DACA

— Attend a wide array of workshops pertaining to education, financial and legal resources, intersectionalities within the 

   undocumented community, mental health and student activism

— Network with different organizations that support undocumented students

— Become eligible for the annual IYEC Scholarship funded by IDEAS
