United Way of Greater Los Angeles’ HomeWalk is the county’s largest annual event dedicated to ending homelessness.
Volunteers are vital to HomeWalk’s success. Volunteers make the event easy, well-organized, and fun for its participants who over the course of the last 10 years have raised more than $7.6 Million to support our homeless neighbors. Over 600 volunteers are needed to assist with event check-in, parking, crowd control, route safety, distribution of water and refreshments and cheering on our generous walkers/runners! It’s fun to volunteer and your participation will make a significant contribution to our goal to end Homelessness! The walk takes place on Saturday morning, November 18. Start time for volunteers will be between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. depending on the position you are assigned to. Volunteer activities will end by 2:00 p.m. All volunteers will receive their assignments, exact details of shift time, and parking information approximately 3-4 weeks before the event date. We also need a smaller number of volunteers to assist with event setup on Friday, November 17. Volunteers will receive free parking, food, a HomeWalk Volunteer T-shirt and the satisfaction of knowing they have made a significant difference in our community!
