Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies is a school designed to enhance the educational experience for students in the Los Angeles community. This school has students from the 4th to the 12th grade. They focus on engaging the students with material inside and outside the classroom and encourage parental involvement in the student’s academic path. Due to a shortage of funds, the school was unable to pay for some projects they hoped to do for their campus.
That’s where we come in. Our Volunteer Leadership Project is to paint the bungalows they have installed and match the paint on the foundations to the doors and stairways. In addition, we plan to install benches around the area in order to better the overall campus. This project will allow Sherman Oaks CES to appropriate the funds available towards their students’ academic success.
Transportation provided. Meet at bus stop on Gayley/Strathmore at noon. Bus should return to UCLA between 4-4:30.
Last day to sign up is April 16.
