The GSE&IS Dean’s Distinguished Speaker Series will feature world renowned UC Berkeley Public Policy Professor David L. Kirp at Korn Auditorium on April 24th at 5 pm.
The lecture will be in a round-table format with the GSE&IS Dean and GSE&IS Education faculty member Patricia Gandara. It will be a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in the state of education on a national and international scale to come and listen. Professor Kirp will begin the discussion with his latest book, “Improbable Scholars: The Rebirth of a Great American School System and a Strategy for America’s Schools”.
We are requesting just a 5 volunteers to help with the check-in tables and assisting a few VIP guests who will be attending the event. The shift time for volunteers will be 3:30-5:15, and if they are interested in staying to watch the lecture they will be more than welcome to do so.
The dress attire is casual, and we understand many student volunteers will be coming from classes and other commitments. We will appreciate any help that can be offered. If you or anyone you know might be interested in volunteering, please email Qiana Moore at qmoore@support.ucla.edu.
