Government affairs interns report to the Government Affairs Managers and are expected to help with a range of daily needs at VICA’s Van Nuys office and off-site events. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with drafting policy briefs and letters to lawmakers; tracking pertinent federal, state and local legislation; engaging in events and conferences; and participating in policy committee preparation and event planning.
The ideal candidates are pursuing an associate’s, undergraduate or graduate degree in political science, business, public policy or a related field; are familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); and are excellent communicators. Research and writing is required, schedules are flexible.
