Location: 2055 W 24th Street Los Angeles CA 90018
Duration: Single Day
Date: Jan 24, 2015
The Garden School Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides interactive garden-based education to underserved children across Los Angeles in our beautiful living classrooms. Since 2003, we’ve been turning asphalt into ecosystems, working to create a healthy, educated and aware future generation that care for their bodies and for the earth.
r
r GSF hosts monthly garden workdays where our whole community joins together at the 24th Street School Garden to enjoy the outdoors and accomplish garden-projects. This is a great opportunity to enjoy some fun in the sun, get to know like-minded community partners, enjoy healthy garden-fresh munchies, and get some rewarding work done in the garden. You don’t need any experience to join in, just a love of the outdoors and getting dirty!
r
r We recommend that volunteers bring: clothes they don’t mind getting dirty, close-toed shoes, sun protection, water and snacks.
r
r Tasks will include: Planting, watering, weeding, building, harvesting and more!
r
r If you have a large group that would like to attend, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Shelby Crowell at shelby@gardenschoolfoundation.org.
