The Los Angeles Public Library provides free and easy access to information, ideas, books and technology that enrich, educate and empower every individual in our city’s diverse communities.
In conjunction with the Pacific Standard Time: L.A./L.A. exhibit, Central Library will host “Visualizing Language: Oaxaca in LA” and is looking for Volunteer Gallery Sitters. At least 4 hours per week of service is requested for at least 4 weeks. Shifts are flexible and are ideally done in two or four-hour increments during the library’s open hours.
-Answer patron questions (training and information will be provided)
-Provide a welcoming presence in the Rotunda exhibit space
-Inform security if individuals attempt to damage the art
-Talk to exhibit goers, encourage discussion
-This opportunity is indoors but will require periods of standing, walking, and sitting
-Minimum age for volunteers is 18
-Completion of Volunteer Intake forms and training (apx. 1 hr) required
