The Festival of Childhood is on Saturday, April 26th, from 1pm to 5pm. The festival is a free outdoor community event and a day of play and creativity for families from all over Los Angeles. The Festival of Childhood will offer many fun opportunities for play, learning, and creativity, including a rock climbing wall, face painting, crafts, music, story time, street painting, children dance groups and performances, and live bands.

r Volunteers are needed to help support the art/activity booths, information booths, food areas, parking, security, and pre-event material preparation.

r The event takes place in Echo Park. We close down Reservoir St. between Sunset Blvd and N. Alvarado St., as well as part of Liberty St. – for reference you can look at 1226 N. Alvarado St, 90026, this is the United Methodist Church that is on the corner.

r Echo Parenting & Education supports and facilitates child-raising rooted in connection and empathy. We teach an approach to caring for children that is grounded in the philosophy of nonviolence with the understanding that how adults care for children teaches children how to care for the world. We host several community events, classes, and professional trainings throughout the year. Volunteers are often needed to help with supporting the community events.
Time Details
Shifts include: set-up: 8AM-1PM, event: 1PM-5PM, clean-up: 5PM-7PM. Shift times are able to be negotiated.Volunteers are asked to commit at least 4 hours per shift.
