The first-ever bicycle powered concert at UCLA, Ecochella, is this Friday (5/24) from 6-10pm at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center!! With the importance of seeking new forms of renewable energy and highlighting the efficiency and sustainability of bicycle transit, E3: Ecology, Economy, Equity is bringing together the UCLA community for a night of good music, good food, activism, and knowledge, kicking off Memorial Day Weekend in eco-music style.
The event is free and open to the UCLA community and friends. Doors open at 5:30 with a BruinCard to enter for UCLA students and alternate form of ID for non-UCLA students. Ecochella will feature student bands, an alumni band and local bluegrass collective The Dustbowl Revival, powered by the pedal power of volunteer students and the help of Rock the Bike. Food for bands, bikers and volunteers will be cooked up by the UCLA Student Food Collective (SFC) and Green Truck LA, a food truck with a solar-powered kitchen, will be there as well.
We are still looking for volunteers for tomorrow’s event. Please go to http://www.ecochella.com/volunteer.html for more information or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP.
