DTLA Mini Maker Faire

December 1st, 2018

Location: Central Library Central LA Los Angeles California 630 West 5th Street, Los Angeles, California 90071, United States
Duration: Single Day
Date: Dec 1, 2018 • 7AM - 5PM

Los Angeles Public Library is excited to host a variety of Makers and open its doors to share their creations and innovations with the public.

If you want that feel good volunteer experience that has you up and moving, working with people, and feeling engaged in a family friendly event-this is the one for you! Visit for photos and descriptions from last year’s event to give you an idea of what to expect. This is great for individuals or for large groups of volunteers as we are trying to fill 50+ spots.

Volunteer tasks:
Volunteers will serve as greeters, guides, assistants, and crowd control, and project assistants. This volunteer opportunity will involve being on your feet, interacting with patrons and makers of all ages, experiencing Central Library in a new way, and getting to participate in a fun and engaging event!

Date and time:
Saturday, December 1, 2018
7:30am-4:30pm (multiple shifts)
(Actual event runs 10am-4pm)

Volunteers must be over the age of 14 years old. As the event approaches, volunteer enrollment forms will be sent and their return will be required in advance of the event. This volunteer event will involve a lot of walking, standing, moving, and interacting with the public/staff/makers. If you like a bustling day of helping out, this is for you! Comfortably and modestly, please wear closed toe shoes and clothing you can get dirty and move easily in

  • Remember to pack snacks/lunch and water! You will be given a break to eat and while there are places downtown to purchase food, we also recommend packing plenty of snacks and water.
  • Although eating is not allowed inside the building, there are ample outdoor spaces to eat outside the library and across the street.
  • At this time, parking is not free (apx. $8) so we highly recommend using public transportation and carpooling to get to Central Library in DTLA.
