Day of Service is an opportunity for UCLA students to serve the Los Angeles community while combating and learning about the issues of hunger and homelessness. Get free breakfast, lunch, a T-shirt, and spend a day volunteering with one of our partnering organizations:
Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
The Giving Spirit
St. Francis Center
Downtown Women’s Center
On Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 8:00 am, meet up in Bruin Plaza for check-in, FREE BREAKFAST, and FREE T-SHIRT before departing for your volunteer site. After 3 hours of service, return to Bruin Plaza for FREE lunch, performances, and a special guest speaker provided for us by The Giving Spirit, ending the event at 1:30 pm.
Los Angeles is the wealthiest city in the United States, yet it is also recognized as our nation’s homelessness capital – an estimated 48,000 people live on the streets of Los Angeles. UCLA students can educate themselves and get involved to alleviate this tragedy that exists right in our own city.
We encourage groups of friends, fraternities, sororities, student groups, and ORL residential floors to come together as a group! Many thanks to the UCLA Volunteer Center and ORL for its involvement and funding support.
Ready to get involved?
