The Culver City Senior Center‘s mission is to provide a variety of educational, recreational and social services that meet the needs and interests of seniors, residents with disabilities and all members of the general community. The numerous programs and services offered provide access to information and support as well as opportunities for participation in activities that lead to personal growth, improved health and enriching life experiences.
The members of the Senior Center have requested a class for Android phone and/or tablets. We currently offer iPhone & iPad classes but do not have an android class. Our members have asked for this class and now we need someone to create a syllabus and teach it!
Volunteers should have knowledge of Android phones and/or tablets and preferably have teaching or public speaking experience. Key skills would be experience in how to breakdown and explain these concepts in an easy to explain way.
Classes are traditionally six weeks long, 2 hours a week but since this is a new class this could be adapted if needed to be perhaps a two week workshop, etc.
Perfect opportunity for students studying to be teachers or social workers, or anyone that wants to engage and empower our seniors about new technology!
Class would need to be offered between 9:30 a.m and 4:30 p.m. weekdays or between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. on weekends. Exact schedule can be determined based on volunteers' availability and computer lab schedule.
