NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL MISSION
The West Los Angeles Neighborhood Council (“WLASNC”) was certified on October 3, 2003 to serve every person having a stake within its borders. Its mission is to provide representation and advocacy for the diverse interests of all stakeholders within the boundaries. More specifically, the objectives of the WLASNC are:
To offer a forum for the discussion and review of issues and projects of interest to the “West Los Angeles Neighborhood”.
To offer a forum to engage all West Los Angeles stakeholders to collaborate and deliberate on matters affecting this community.
To assist and serve as an advisory body to government agencies on issues relating to the West Los Angeles Neighborhood.
To monitor the delivery of city services and to make recommendations to the Los Angeles City Council regarding budgetary issues.
Not to interfere with the internal affairs of any individual, group or organization.
To remain non-partisan.
This is our second year participating in Mayor Garcetti’s Clean Streets LA program which now encompasses community beautification. We are looking for volunteers to participate in two community clean-ups and also to form teams to plant street trees, to become block captains to update the City’s clean statistics for the community, to increase awareness of the MyLA311 service request program, to form a team to adopt and maintain medians and other opportunities.
