CicLAvia heads back to Iconic Wilshire Boulevard on August 14 as Koreatown, Westlake, and Downtown Los Angeles will host the country’s largest open streets event! Streets will be closed to cars and open for cyclists, pedestrians, runners and skaters to use as a recreational space.
Volunteers will be assigned to the Koreatown Hub for any of the following positions of their choice:
Hub Angels play a vital role at the hubs during the CicLAvia event. Hub Angels help support our staff by providing information or direction to participants. They also help support our fundraising efforts and encourage participants to support CicLAvia by purchasing merchandise or donating to the event. Additionally, they also assist in conducting surveys for an ongoing study of CicLAvia.
Hub Angels are stationed at the information booth or assist nearby with other activities.
Crossing Angels support CicLAvia by helping enforce the Rules of the Road ensuring all participants enjoy a fun and safe CicLAvia. Crossing Angels are positioned at a Pedestrian Crossing Point along the route near the hub to aid walking participants to get across the route safely. They ensure people on bikes stop for walking participants.
Survey Angels roam the surrounding hub area and conduct surveys to participants at CicLAvia. Through this effort they help with our ongoing efforts to understand the health impact CicLAvia has on the community and it’s participants.
Hub Angels are assigned to roam the hub area and beyond.
