Thee mission of the Chinese American Museum (CAM) is to foster a deeper understanding of, and appreciation for, America’s diverse heritage. Through efforts in research and preservation, the museum is dedicated to sharing the history, rich cultural legacy, and continued contributions of Chinese Americans.
We are holding our main fundraising event, the 22nd Annual Historymakers Awards Gala on Thursday, September 13th. Prominently recognized as one of the premiere Chinese American events in Southern California, the Gala honors the achievements of extraordinary individuals and organizations that have made a significant impact or lasting contributions towards the advancement of the Chinese American community in Southern California and beyond.
There will be two shifts: Set-up and Event. Set-up runs from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm (volunteers are not required to stay the full amount of time, but for at least a minimum of 3 hours) and primarily assists in getting the space ready for the Gala. Event shift is from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm and volunteers will be given different jobs, depending on our needs.
Lunch and parking will be provided, and accommodations will be made for any dietary restrictions.
