Duration: Multiple Days

Chicano Youth Leadership Conference Inc. was established in the early 1960’s. CYLC Inc. is one of the oldest conferences dedicated to promoting successful educational experiences for Chicano students in the greater Los Angeles area. The main objective of the conference is to encourage and support 11th grade student leaders planning to attend college or to reaffirm the benefits of a college education and a strong cultural awareness of their Mexican/Mexican-American heritage.

We are recruiting volunteer facilitators for our upcoming Chicano Youth Leadership Conference (CYLC Inc.). Our fall conference is scheduled for Friday, October 14, 2016 to Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Camp Hess Kramer in Malibu, California.

During our three-day conference, participants will attend workshops; listen to successful Chicano community leaders, professors and other professionals as they introduce topics such as gender issues, leadership, identity, and community involvement. Our volunteer staff (many of whom are alumni) consists of professionals from a wide variety of fields, upper and graduate students who participate as facilitators. We believe that our conference’s success is measured by the quality of the selected facilitators and conference support staff. Our conference will not be complete without your help.

Please mark your calendars for the following dates to consider:

• Applications are due via email by Monday, September 26, 2016.

• You will be contacted if you are selected to attend the training.

• If selected, all volunteers must attend the following mandatory training scheduled for: Saturday, October 8, 2016. No Exceptions!!!
