Duration: Single Day
Date: Aug 19, 2017
Camp Hollywood HEART is not your typical summer camp. Located in the beautiful mountains of Malibu, California, we serve 80 young people ages 15-20 all impacted by HIV/AIDS. Campers come from all across the nation and have the opportunity to explore seven arts disciplines from professionals: acting, creative writing, culinary arts, documentary filmmaking, fashion, music, and visual arts. The week long camp ends with a live performance where our young artists showcase their creativity before the camp community and guests. It is an incredibly moving experience. Our campers struggle with very difficult circumstances and to see them find their voice and strength through artistic expression is extremely powerful. We carry that message with us throughout the year with multi-week workshops for various at-risk students in high schools across Los Angeles.
The Gala is the showcase at the end of the week. We are looking for day of volunteers willing to help with parking, set up, food, etc. We would love to offer you an invitation to dinner and a seat for the show to reward you for your hard work.
