Our 16th annual Bruin Run/Walk at UCLA event is happening this May 3, 2015 on the UCLA campus. In order for the event to run smoothly, we will need the assistance of as many volunteers as possible.
r The Bruin Run/Walk at UCLA is a non-profit organization that benefits the Child Life/Child Development program at the Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA. We annually implement a 5K run/walk to raise awareness of Child Life/Child Development services as well as raise funds for the program.
r All the proceeds go directly to the Child Life/Child Development Program, which provides children with psychological and social support through activities, games, and access to specialists during their stay at the hospital. The UCLA Run/Walk Committee’s goal this year is to involve over 2,000 participants and raise $50,000. With so many participants, the committee could not possibly run the event on our own, and that is why we need your assistance.
r We will need volunteers to help prepare for the race the day before, and on the day of the race, we will need volunteers from the start of the event till the end. Volunteers will be assisting committee members throughout the day in various areas to keep the participants organized: on route, finish line, snacks area, children’s play area, health screenings, direct traffic, etc. Your personal contributions for our Bruin Run/Walk event will highly be appreciated by the Run/Walk committee and the children at the Mattel Children’s Hospital.
r UCLA students and faculty, patients and families, local residents, businesses, and community leaders all gather together for this annual Sunday morning tradition, and we hope you will become a part of this tradition as well.
r Volunteers can sign up by providing their info on the application: http://goo.gl/forms/bCr0RPKMUp
