Bring Families Together in a PACT (Parents And Children Together with Art) Program

August 8th, 2012

The PACT (Parents And Children Together with Art) Program allows at-risk families to bond and develop communication skills as they work on family-centered art projects. Meeting once a week for 1.5 hours, each individual PACT program takes place over the course of eight consecutive weeks with about 5 to 15 families participating at one of our 40 partner agencies around Los Angeles.

Families work together on projects such as family trees, dream boxes, family member sculptures and 3-D desert islands. This program draws primarily on the visual arts. Discussions about the projects allow family members to get to know one another better and share their hopes for the future.

A volunteer team provides a safe, non-judgmental environment, modeling positive communication through their interactions with one another.

Free Arts volunteers must be 18 years or older and able to provide their own transportation to events. In order to ensure our programs are the highest quality possible, volunteers must first submit an application and attend a Free Arts New Volunteer Orientation.
