Big Sunday, California’s premiere resource for year-round community service and community-building, is enlisting the help of generous volunteers throughout California for the 16th Annual Big Sunday Weekend 2014 (BSW 2014). The weekend of altruistic activity kicks off May 16 – 18, 2014, and includes community service projects at varied locations throughout California. Volunteers can sign up to take part in hundreds of service projects—community and beach clean-ups; school and environmental beautification ventures; book, food and clothing drives; gardening, painting and renovation projects; festive celebrations for underserved individuals and much more! Projects that benefit at-risk youth, low-income families, the homeless/hungry, domestic violence victims, seniors, military personnel, veterans, shut-ins and many more are now posted at http://my.bigsunday.org/ and volunteers are encouraged to sign up today!
r The public is also invited to experience and contribute to featured Big Sunday projects that include the Chill Out Express (a fun party bus that explores the city; the only price of admission is a donation of new socks or underwear for the needy). Community service buffs can also host a lemonade stand anywhere in America to help raise funds for Big Sunday’s Emergency Fund, which aids struggling individuals and families.
