The average low-income eighth grader reads at a third grade level. By volunteering to tutor and help with homework, you will be able to help students do better in schools, improve their self-esteem, and serve as a positive role model.
Tutors serve during our daily homework hour. This might involve showing students how to do a math problem, helping them find an answer in their textbook, or assisting them to stay focused on the task at hand.
